Personalized Support

One-on-one support so you're never navigating access alone

When you or your child receives a prescription, your Care Coordinator becomes your main point of contact throughout treatment, guiding you through each step of the process of starting and staying on CRENESSITY.

Starting a specialty medication can bring up a lot of questions. Your Care Coordinator is here to help you understand what to expect and stay connected with you along the way so you're never navigating the path to access alone.

What makes CRENESSITY a specialty medication?

One of the main reasons CRENESSITY is called a specialty medication is because it's designed to treat a rare condition: CRENESSITY is used together with glucocorticoids (steroids) to control androgen (testosterone-like hormone) levels in adults and children 4 years of age and older with classic congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH).

Specialty medications are filled at specialty pharmacies, which focus on medications designed for rare or complex conditions and offer personalized services.

What is a specialty pharmacy? Meet PANTHERx Rare.

CRENESSITY is provided through a dedicated specialty pharmacy called PANTHERx Rare.

A specialty pharmacy is different from a mail-order pharmacy or a local pharmacy where you may get your steroid prescription. PANTHERx pharmacists work closely with your doctor and Care Coordinator to support your treatment experience.

PANTHERx specialty pharmacy works behind the scenes to help process prescriptions, coordinate delivery, and provide access to trained clinical pharmacists who can answer medication-related questions alongside your doctor.

PANTHERx pharmacists can also help you navigate side effects after starting CRENESSITY, as the body begins to adjust to treatment.

  • If you notice any side effects or symptoms while you are taking CRENESSITY or as your steroids are adjusted, call your doctor or call Neurocrine Access Support at 1-855-CRNSITY (276-7489) to talk to a pharmacist
  • PANTHERx pharmacists can talk to you about some potential ways to manage your side effects (for example, over-the-counter treatment options) and answer your questions.

It’s important to also let your doctor know about side effects or anything else you experience while you are taking CRENESSITY. Don’t stop taking CRENESSITY without talking to your doctor first.

This short video gives you a sneak peek into how CRENESSITY moves from prescription to delivery through PANTHERx and explains how specialty pharmacy support differs from other pharmacies.

Your doctor prescribed CRENESSITY: now what?

Download the CRENESSITY Patient Access Journey brochure or read below to learn more about the steps after your doctor prescribes CRENESSITY.

STEP 1: PANTHERx receives your prescription and Neurocrine Access Support starts to work behind the scenes

Once you or your child is prescribed CRENESSITY, Neurocrine Access Support gets to work for you. The prescription is processed at PANTHERx, and confirmation is sent to your doctor, typically within 1 business day.

This kicks off the access process and helps ensure next steps can move forward as efficiently as possible.

STEP 2: Your Care Coordinator will give you a welcome call

You can expect a call from your dedicated Care Coordinator within 1 business day after PANTHERx receives your prescription.

During this call, your Care Coordinator will:

  • Explain what you can expect now that you're enrolled in Neurocrine Access Support
  • Confirm important personal details needed to process your prescription
  • Help you understand insurance requirements
  • Answer questions about the process

Because your welcome call is an important part of moving your prescription forward, it's important to answer when your Care Coordinator reaches out. If they're unable to reach you, the pharmacy may not be able to proceed with next steps.

If you have a specific medical question, your Care Coordinator can connect you with a trained clinical pharmacist at PANTHERx to get the information you need.

You can reach out to your Care Coordinator directly, too. Call 1‑855‑CRNSITY (276‑7489), Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM ET.

STEP 3: We’ll verify your insurance

Neurocrine Access Support works with your doctor’s office and your insurance plan to support the insurance review process (including prior authorization), which is common for specialty medications like CRENESSITY.

With the help of Neurocrine Access Support, 9 out of 10 people receive approval through insurance.*

Your Care Coordinator will also review the financial support programs available through Neurocrine Access Support to determine which options may be right for you or your child.

STEP 4: We’ll call to schedule your shipment

Before your first shipment, your Care Coordinator will call to help schedule fast, reliable delivery of your or your child’s CRENESSITY prescription right to your door, at home, or wherever you may need it. When your or your child’s CRENESSITY prescription is delivered, you will have to provide a signature to receive it. If you choose to opt in to program communications, a Welcome Kit with helpful information and resources will accompany the first prescription.

Answering all calls from your Care Coordinator helps ensure you don’t miss important information about your prescription or delivery timing.

STEP 5: Your Care Coordinator will give you ongoing support

Your Care Coordinator continues to support you throughout your CRENESSITY treatment experience.

They check in with you, answer questions as they come up, help coordinate refills (and send refill reminders), and provide ongoing guidance so you always know whom to contact for support.

Getting the prescriptions is honestly seamless at this point.
